LATEST UPDATE FROM HAITI
As we prepare to go back to Haiti we have some very difficult challenges in our path... I had posted awhile back when I was in Haiti that I had heard rumors that riots would break out in May and was hoping they would not come to pass... there were riots even in Jacmel today which is unheard of... many fires and rocks thrown through windows...there were also riots in Port au Prince and some people were shot and killed... this is something that probably won't make the news over here... It looks like there is a group of people trying to overturn the Government......there is a little cement getting in but the price has gone up several dollars per bag...
...it looks like the UN has decided not to move families up to our property in Chabin as they feel it is too far from the city... we just want to help where ever we can...we do have many plans for development of this property whether they move or not... things could change as things seem to fluctuate from day to day...
....Rylee from the TV station and Amanda from the News Paper will be traveling with me to Haiti on this trip...they will have many stories to report when they get back to the Hat... we will be meeting several other people coming in to help with our projects from Canada and the States...
....as soon as we get the wiring finished at the orphanage and electricity hooked up, the orphans will move back into the house... it will be such a blessing for them to not have to sleep outside ... it has been a long haul... we have a team from the States that have been helping with this...
Pictured above is a fatherless family from the mountains in our Chabin region.. the children attend our Chabin school...
We need your continued financial support and prayers... we hope to have 56 schools open with 13,000 students this fall... this will only happen if we can raise the money... if your business, church group, school or family are looking for areas to help in financially, here are a few examples...
School books $7. per child for all their books.
School uniforms $15. per child
Support a teachers $120. per month.
Support a cook...$75. per month
Support a Pastor $110. per month
We are still in need of funds to purchase land in Jacmel to relocate our school... $75,000.
We are still in need of a large tent that would hold about 2000 people for our Jacmel location.
We are in need of funds to purchase the land to develop the coffee plantation... $37,000.
We are in need to raise funds for the shipping of food and transportation of the food
once it gets to Haiti... $80,000. for 4,000,000 meals....
The cinder block plant is close to completion... the walls are finished... the steel gates are being built.. we are not able to get enough cement to build the foundation for the equipment as yet but hopefully soon. ... I will post pictures when I return to Haiti...
Please pray for our protection.... THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE... ONE CHILD AT A TIME..... Bob & Linda

IMMANUEL CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL LETHBRIDGE

I had the honor to meet with the teaches and students of Immanuel Christian High School that raised the funds to purchase this skid steer... this will be a huge help for our cinder block plant at our Chabin location... with this piece of equipment along with our press, rock crusher & cement mixer that we already have will help generate funds to support many of the children to go to school ... we estimate with this equipment we will be able to generate $150,000. in funds to help with the education project... this year we hope to raise enough funds to educate 13,000 children at our 56 schools... THANK YOU IMMANUEL CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL for MAKING A DIFFERENCE.... God bless you.... Bob & Linda

Miles and Rosemary will be raising funds through their organization called Blair Hope International to cover their living expenses while in Haiti..... they are hoping to get their residence permit to stay in Haiti for longer periods of time but they will start from about the middle of Sept. to the middle of Dec. for their first stay.. ... they will be giving a helping hand in organizing teams going to Haiti to help with our projects... they will arrange their accommodations, transportation, and setting up work projects... they will also be helping with the photo's of the children that have sponsors where they will be able to keep in touch with the sponsors and send them updated pictures and letting them know how their sponsored child is progressing... and much more....this will be such a big help for myself... their e-mail is... lifelinehaititeams@gmail.com web site... www.blairhope.com

VIEW OF CHABIN FROM GOOGLE EARTH
Here are some pictures taken off Google Earth... this is our property at our Chabin location of approx. 20 acres... I have marked on the pictures the approx. boarder of the property with the orange pins, each of the locations where the projects are being built or are going to be built in the next few months are marked... the top left picture gives you an overview of the whole property then the photo on the bottom right is the bottom part of the property and the picture above it is the upper part of the property... we have an opportunity to bless over 300 families to move onto the property from tent city...there would be housing built for them and their children would attend out school in Chabin.... the rains have started and they are in desperate need... we will keep you posted on the progress on whether it will happen or when it will happen...

NEW ORLEANS BARGE ARRIVED !!!!

Update from my last report... the ship from Venezuela pulled out a couple hours later and the New Orleans Barge arrived..... Have a great day.... Bob & Linda
NEW ORLEANS BARGE ARRIVED TODAY

Early this morning the New Orleans barge arrived in Jacmel.. this is the one we had tried to get a shipment of food on it from Medicine Hat... the problem was the U.S. would not allow us to transport the food through the States even if the container was locked to put it on the barge to Haiti... It is good to see it arrive as there are many supplies needed by other Non Government Organizations working in this area..... Sarah has a container on this barge for her Birth Clinic for Midwives... this is an unusual move as there is no facilities to unload a barge here in Jacmel but this barge has it's own cranes ..... they are planning on another shipment in a couple of months... this is through an organization called Make It Right.... WHILE POSTING THIS I FOUND OUT FROM ONE OF THE REPORTERS THAT THIS BARGE IS FROM VENEZUELA AND THE NEW ORLEANS BARGE IS ANCHORED OUTSIDE THE BAY WAITING ON THIS ONE TO UNLOAD FIRST... It is the Venezuelan army that has taken over at the airport from our Canadian military.... this is so typical when trying to get anything done down here... one road block after another... try and try again and never give up and you will succeed....
It is wrap up day for me today as I leave for Port au Prince tomorrow morning for my flight back to Canada... I overnight in Montreal and arrive in Medicine Hat at about 3PM Wed... THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE....

HAPPY EASTER....

From my family to yours, Happy Easter and pray everyone has a great week-end... I had the honor to share at two services this morning....this little one had her Sunday best on... I leave on Tuesday and back in the Hat on Wed. afternoon... school will be starting on Monday in most of the schools.. we are still in need of temporary facilities to start all our school... we were going to be getting tents from Unicef but they have run out of tents and will have no more till May... just a list of a few of our needs in no particular order.... a large tent that would hold about 2000 people at this location...
We need a couple to move here to help on the ground... someone with administration experience would be a huge help ... volunteers to come and help with reconstruction ..... housing for teams.... our hope is to open all schools in Sept. we have in our system and give support to each one... we need help with purchasing books, uniforms and paying teachers salaries... we are needing churches to adopt a Pastor...at $100. per mon.... we need support at the orphanage... child sponsorship at the orphanage is $3. per day... school children is $1. per day...
I will be booking speaking engagements over the next 6 mons... drop note if you would like me to share at your church, business, or organization... together we can make a difference...

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ONE CHILD AT A TIME

MAKING A DIFFERENCE.... ONE CHILD AT A TIME..... THANK YOU FOR MAKING A D I F F E R E N C E !!!!!!!!
SCHOOL AND TENTS FOR CHILDREN AT OUR ORPHANAGE

We were at the orphanage most of the day with all the children and the first day of school... this is our first time to have a school at this location.. the children from Jacmel are attending here as there is no place to put a tent on our property in Jacmel... we will be getting two more large tents for this location... the open door tent is the school, the other tent is one of two tents for the children to sleep in at night time.... the picture of the three little girls shows the little one in the middle the child that came with us from Bay d'Orange on Friday... her mother was unable to care for her any more.. .. she has 6 other children... she adjusted quickly with the children at the orphanage as she already knew some of them.... the little boy, Jameson with me in the top left photo is also from the same area....
Thank you for making a difference... Bob & Linda
OUT OF GASOLINE... ANOTHER ROADBLOCK

Here are a few faces of the people your support has helped make a difference... this is only a few of the thousands we have been able to help so far... we have been out of gasoline for the last couple of days in the south part of Haiti.. haven't heard if they are out of fuel anywhere else... makes it even more challenging to a very difficult situation... most of our schools are open now with the rest of the country opening the schools by the 5th of Apr. ... we are getting portable tents as classrooms... There was a concert put on by the Rosettes last night in the Hat to help with our work in Haiti.. thank you to everyone that donated.... the cinder block plant construction is going well.. all the walls should be up by the end of this week or early next week... I found a coffee plant that starts producing coffee the first year it is planted even though the yield is low at least we would get coffee the first year and a full harvest in about 3 yrs.. we have the land picked out and ready to purchase and plant coffee trees as soon as we have the funds...we are looking at about $80,000. to purchase the land and plant the trees....still waiting of finding the cost of each coffee tree.... we may end up putting in large water reservoirs to drip irrigate during dry seasons.... we will also have our own preparation and drying facilities of the coffee beans...
the large relief organization that have been renting our water trucks since Jan. 27th still haven't paid us... this is creating a financial stress on our organization.. pray they will pay us this week... it has been the same with the other water trucks they are renting... it always take so long to get things done down here... the rains have held back so far so the roads are still open and those that have bed sheets for tents are still OK but this will change soon as each day is one day closer to the rains...
I probably mentioned this before but I will be posting a list of needs soon... what we need the most is your prayers and any financial support you can help with... we are so looking forward to the cinder block plant to be in operation and the coffee plantation in place this will help take much with the finances need.... we will start seeing the impact with these project over the next couple of years... the biggest need at the moment is to help the orphans......
THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE.... www.lifelinehait.blogspot.com

STRONG TREMOR 2:18AM THIS MORNING AND MORE PIC.S

I had many ask from back home if we are still getting after shocks... I had said no but last night there was a real strong one which put some cracks in my room and rattled my dishes.... I didn't have my alarm system set up if you have been following my blog... the coffee beans are getting close to turning to the cherry color... I found a coffee plant here that will start producing the first year it is planted so we will be able to start with a return the first year even though it will be a small harvest it will still give a return... hopefully we will be able to purchase the land this spring for the coffee plantation... this would give us a good return to help with the operation of many of our schools plus give much employment in this region... the little girl with the stick is 10 yrs. old.. never would have guested....she is about the size of a 3 yr. old back home.... please pray that we will have the resources to open all of our schools on the waiting list to get support....
... thank you for making a difference.... God bless you... Bob & Linda

BAIE D'ORANGE REGION OF HAITI GROWS GREAT COFFEE

This is home sweet home for a family on the bottom picture... I found the gardens in this region were much more advanced then I have seen in other parts of the country.. probably a little more moisture at this 2400 foot level....we have 125 children attending a school that we have set up in a house for now but we have not been able to give them any support... our hope is this coming school year we will be able to give this school support with teachers' salaries, food, books, uniforms and a bigger facility.... we would have about 300 attend if we could raise the support... thank you for making a difference... Bob & Linda
PIC.'S OF THE DAY... COULDN'T JUST PICK ONE

Just a few of the faces of the people your financial support is helping.. many of them their lives are being saved because of your generosity... thank you for making a difference... this photo's are taken from the Baie d'Orange region of Haiti.... God bless you.. Bob & Linda
