Never get tired of the view.... Chabin to Jacmel

This is a picture from our Chabin school towards Jacmel. Will never get tired of the view... It was a packed church service in Jacmel this morning. The youth did a youth rally last night and have put together a group of the young people from the church and have cut a CD. They sang for us at church this morning. They are amazing...
We have a team of 18 here this week for a jam packed schedule. I hope to get some more posted this week.

Orphanage close to completion

The orphanage is close to completion. The bars are in the windows and doors. We are still short the money to put in the window, and floor ties throughout the house. The orphans will be moving in in the next few weeks. There are pictures of the front, side and back of building. There is a well being dug by hand and they are just reaching water at 80 ft.

Mission of Hope and Haiti One

On my flight down I met Grant and his family on their way to be missionaries in Haiti. They will be working with Mission of Hope, Haiti and Haiti One. I was hoping we would get time to go to the area where their mission is in Titanyen. It worked out on the second day we stopped in and had a wonderful meeting with them and others of the organizations. The Dirctor St. Marc Jean Lubin and Site Manager Laurens van der Mark(another Canadian and former OPP). We had a wonderful meeting and they blesses us with severl hundred pairs of shoes. Thank you!!!!

Second day in Lascahobas about 2.5 hrs. to the north east of PAP.

The second day into Lacahobas we were met my a number of the students waiting to attend school and the teachers that were going to teach. Again because of lack of funds we had to turn down this request. It is heart breaking but what can a person do?
We are so hoping people from North America will help or anywhere in the world.

Trip to the North of Port au Prince the first couple of days.

On our first day we stopped in Mirebalais where Pastor Joseph is hoping to start up a school. We were hoping to be able to help get it going but because of the lack of funds at this time we are unable to help. Arrived Haiti

Just a quick not to let you know we have been traveling to the north of Haiti and met some amazing people that gave us several hundred pairs of shoes for our children. We toured a couple locations that we were going to open schools in this year and had to advise them we are not able to open them until funds come in to do so. Many disappointed parents and children but what can you do.
We picked up the team from the States. I will post pictures and write-ups over the next couple of days. Some hard decisions to be made regarding keeping schools open and also not able to open additional schools because of a lack of funds.

Oct. 4th. Service in Winkler at the Beathaler Minn.church on the corner of Mountain
and 6th at 10:30 AM
Oct.7th. Speak at Rem Manufacturing in Swift Current.
Oct. 9th. Speak at the Miracle Channel in Lethbridge.
Oct. 19th Return to Haiti with the Winkler Team...

Update on Carrefour Raymond school

As you saw on one of my post awhile back that we were moving the children from the Raymond School to The Carrefour Raymond School. Miles & Rosemary are helping us with raising funds to upgrade the school and raising support for some of the children. To date about half of the $3000. needed to upgrade the school has come in and several of the children that moved over from the Raymond school have sponsors. We need everyone's help. We are hoping to feed 8500 children this year which comes to 2.5 million meals. We have been getting help from The Urban Refuge Church and Kids Against Hunger in Minniapolis with the purchasing, packaging of the food and some of the shipping costs. We are in need of funds to help with the shipping and getting the containers through customs and all the costs involved with the loading and unloading when it gets to Haiti. INSIPIRED FROM WHAT I SAW TO DO MORE

I was so touched and inspired to see all the people that came out to help pack food for the children of Haiti. The 125,000 plus meals that were prepared will last us for about a month at our present level of students. It is just an example of what can happen if we all work together. Our need this year for our children that will be registered at our schools will be about 1.3 million meals and the other 4000 that are waiting for a school to start up in their areas were going to have to wait till sometime in the future. The problem with that is that many will die of starvation before that will happen so we must push hard to raise the funds to supply 2.5 million meals that will feed 8500 children.

Seeing what can happen when other organizations partner is amazing and has inspired me to believe this goal is possible. Will you consider helping with a generous donation. The cost to transport one container will be approx. $8,000 which will have approx. 270,000 meals. We will need 9 containers of food.

This would put a meal on their plate for just under $.05 per meal!!! How can we not! Check with your church, business, relatives or whoever to see if you can raise the money for a container to two. Children's lives are depending on us.

125,064 Meals prepard today for the children of Haiti

I was amazed today of all the volunteers that showed up today at The Urban Refuge Church in Minneapolis to help with packaging up food for the children in our schools in Haiti.
There were 5 shifts of people working from 9 to 5. This will be a huge help as we are in need of 1.3 million meals this year. The food was a mixture of rice, soy, dehydrate vegetables and a powdered mixture of vitamins and minerals. I will be back home on Tuesday and hope to post the pictures of all the children and adults that helped and more stats sometime over the next couple of days. All the food is brought in through an amazing organized named "Kids Against Hunger". I met with Richard, the founder of the organization on Friday and was inspired with his enthusiasm and vision of feeding all the starving people around the work. We are so great full that we are able to partner with them and the Urban Refuge Church. Thank you for making a difference!!!

Miles & Rosemary unable to continue with Raymond School

With the economic crunch it has made it impossible for Miles & Rosemary to continue with the fund raising support of the Raymond school. We have made the decision to close down the Raymond school and move the children to the Carrefour Raymond school location. It is within a few miles of the other school. The Carrefour Raymond school is in desperate need of repair and expansion to accommodate the 125 children that will be coming in from Raymond. We will be needing to raise about $3000. to make the changes needed to make room for the children from Raymond. Will you considering helping with all or a portion of the funds needed. Cloths needed for orphans

We have a huge need for clothing for 20 orphans that we have in our orphanage in Jacmel.
The children are 1 yr. to 12 yrs. of age. Any cloths, new or in good repair and clean will be greatly appreciated. Drop me a note if you can help in this area. ....

Manitoba- July 12th/Minneapolis- Aug.09

We will be sharing at the Christian Church with Pastor Terry Sellen on Sunday the 12th of July in Oakbank, Manitoba. Service will start at 10AM.
For the evening service starting at 7PM we will be at the Selkirk Aboriginal Redemption Center with Pastor Ray Settee. If your in the area we would love to see you.

The end of July we will be leaving for meetings in Steinback, & the Winkler team going to Haiti in Oct. The 31st.to the Urban Refuge Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Pastor Chad. We will be packing dehydrated food destined for Haiti on the 1st. of Aug. and then a service at their church on the 2nd. Arrive back in the Hat on the 4th.

Our need is so huge. Our hope is to have 26 schools opened for Sept. with 4500 students.

There are still 17 locations with 4000 children waiting for our help.

We can only open and keep them open if the funds and supplies come in from faithful donors like you. Our hope is that extra funds and supplies will come in so we can open more schools that are on the waiting list. Can you see a way you are able to help these precious children of Haiti?

Statistics show that 400 children die each day in Haiti of starvation and curable diseases and only half the children reach the age of 15. We can break this vicious cycle! Will you help?

The little boy, Alfred, at the top of this page is only one of so many other children that were so close to death when we started up a school in their regions. A picture is worth a thousand words. You can see the difference some food, medicine and lots of love has made.
