Pre School Children at our Baie d'Orange school

here is a short video of the pres school children singing at our Bay d'Orange school... this is about a 3 hr. drive through the mountains from Jacmel... this is a hard hit area from hurricanes, droughts, famine and more .... most of our children that are in our orphanage in Jacmel are from this area... as difficult as it is in Haiti these children show so much joy and happiness knowing they are getting a hot meal each day and an education... thank you to all that donate... you are making a difference...

Upgrades to Carrfour Raymond school and Cinder Block Plant

thanks to all that donated towards these projects.... we have been able to put a large foundation in the cinder block plant where we can place the finished blocks to dry... we had one in place but found it wasn't large enough... you will also see pictures of Carrfour Raymond school as they are putting up walls, putting in windows and doors and  building a water reservoir... pictures show the work at the plant and at the school.  Thank you for making a difference...

Well dug in Jacmel

we are one step closer to have our water purification location set up in Jacmel... photo's are of the process of digging the well by hand... we had to re dig the well after hurricane Sandy caused our well to collapse... next a building will be built and a water purification system added to provide thousands of gallons of purified water for the people of this area in Jacmel... this is another micro business for our organization which will provide funds to help support one or two schools in the area.... Thanks to  Cam Clark of Legacy Water Foundation for all your help and those that donated towards this project ....... this is a huge help... Cam's web site is: www.legacywaterfoundation.com.... we hope to have this project open early in the new year...

Photo's show the drilling and digging process.... thank you for making a difference... one clean cup of water at a time...

Next upgrade for Cinder block plant

as you know our goal is to help develop a system that can help the schools to become self sustaining from the profits made from the cinder block plant.. one of the problems that we have run into is the breakdown of equipment... here you can see that the engine for our generator has to be re built... it is a cost of $6000. U.S. ... when these things occur it brings a hault to the production of our block ... we then loose contacts because of down time... our hope is to raise enough funds to purchase and addition generator and a cinder block press... we presently have two rock crushers so we are in good shape there... cost of two pieces of equipment needed here will be about $35,000.  This will give us back up for each piece of equipment so when one goes down they are able to switch over to the other back up piece so the plant will not have to have shut down time... this gives us an opportunity to service the equipment effectively also... pictures show the diesel engine apart waiting to be rebuilt
......thank you for making a difference...

Upgrades at Cinder Block Plant

these are two important upgrades needed at the cinder block plant to help us move forward with this project... one was to hire a track hoe from PAP to open up the side of the mountain beside the cinder block plant... there was a layer of about two feet of lava rock to get through with the jack hammer on the machine and then jack hammer the coral ref to break it down to size to put through our rock crusher... the other need was for more water for the plant...this will store rain water ...for this we have built an addition water reservoir that will hold another 30,000 gallons of water....photo's show the digging of the reservoir and the track hoe opening up the pit for us... thank you to each of you have made donations to help us with this ...

Helping thousands with food

it has been some time since we posted updates ... had some technical problems... photo's show teams passing out food and taking food to rural areas ... both of the last 2 hurricanes caused much damage and a reported 52 deaths from hurricane sandy...many builds that were under construction were destroyed from the high winds...  all of our staff and children are safe... the last storm has wiped out all the gardens in the south part of the country... it is too late to replant as we are coming into our dry season... we had food on hand to be able to help about 10,000 people... thank you to all of you that have helped make this possible... especially our teams from Minneapolis... thank you especially Chad and Tim... many lives have been saved because of your hard work...
thank you for making a difference.....
